The idea of the English Teacher Blog germinated during a high-tea (Indian sense of the term) discussion among a group of English teachers working in various schools in Perinthalmanna subdistrict in Malappuram. Devoted to produce and share valuable teaching resources among teachers, the blog serves as an e-medium to exchange and explore diverse pedagogic methods to be adopted in the English classrooms. The discussion of such an aim and purpose emphasized the need for preparing a Unit plan, Lesson plan and Daily lesson plan which would enable the teacher to remain focused on the curriculum objectives. In his research article "What's the Use of Lesson Plan," J.C. Richards observes the importance of lesson plan thus: "The success with which a teacher conducts a lesson is often thought to depend on the effectiveness with which the lesson was planned" (Beyond Training 103). With this objective, the team decided to prepare a tentative plan which would attempt to address the thematic concerns and learning objectives prescribed in the curriculum. The success of this initiative depends on the feedbacks and sharing of ideas among teachers.
